How Waking Up Early Morning Made Me Win More Hours

Wake up early morning!

It was always a challenge for me.. And waking up early was one of the things I never ever wanted in life. But at the same time, being a curious kid, I realize this was one thing I always wanted to crack someday.

Okay, without disclosing my age :p decades passed and life went on.. Let me share a few things I never shared but I lost in life before being an early riser.

  • I missed my entire current affair early morning batch while preparing for Civil Services (and I have my loss shouting even now)
  • I was asked to resign from intern-ship (though it turned out to be the best bad-looking-good-move)
  • I became the reason for jokes and fun in my college for bunking 1st lecture
  • I lost First Division in my post graduation
  • I lost over 8760 Hours of my life

It’s never too late. And whenever, you realize, feel you’re just born to make a new change.

What I Won

  • 3 Hours added to my day, everyday.
  • Productivity Increased by Over 50%.. When you save and gain, your confidence and motivation level just boosts up to gain even more.
  • I became beautiful and younger… again – Naturally
  • I was inspired to add 2 more great rituals to life – Honey lemon cox and Gym
  • I managed to plan and follow a brilliant and productive early morning routine before 8pm

The feeling of being a winner, at last. I could do it.. And interestingly, it wasn’t as difficult as it looked.

How Did I do it?

Keeping it straight forward, there are 2 reasons behind every win

1. First, there is always that right time when it would just happen
2. Second, You would need to REALLY WANT to make it happen..

What I did religiously was to never break the ritual of waking up early even if I slept late. I made sure I wake up on same time no matter what.

You cannot blame anything or find any reason that made you skip your routine. You can just do it if you really want. Rest everything is an excuse. This is coming from someone like me who would do everything and can come up with every lousy excuse and pitiest reason for not to waking up early. But, you’re the real winner when you defeat the loser in you first. I am glad I did. It’s never too late. And whenever, you realize, feel you’re just born to make a new change.

My Early Morning Routine

This accidental read, “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron made write my three morning pages irrespective of anything everyday as the first thing.

2nd, I feel thankful for another good day and think of one daily positive affirmation and commit to stick to it. For example, I will give a happy surprise to at least 2 people today.

3rd, I review my T0-Do list of the day. Add/remove anything. Take me 10 minutes to review, plan and quickly prioritize my day

4th, I write a little blogpost without a worry if I post it or not. I may just use this for any marketing material. Takes me 15 minutes.

5th, I spend 10 minutes on Twitter and 10 minutes reviewing my emails

6th, I leave for my 1 hour workout to gym and get back by 8am

This post wasn’t really to inspire non-early risers but to share my feelings how anything is possible with determination and self-discipline. And early you realise, more time you save in life. Only one life is guaranteed in everybody’s share.

    Please check your last and 6th line in early morning routine. I think you have erroneously written 8 pm instead of AM.

    Sorry if I have not read between the lines.
